    Events' collage of 2018

The year opened with the event renamed Linux Winter Day at the IC “Gioele Solari” in Albino. A small Linux Day aimed at students, lasting the morning, and open to the community in the afternoon.

The activities then continued, concentrating in the months of May, June and July with the following meetings:

    • Practical Rust programming workshop with Carlo Milanesi who guided those present with programming exercises, useful for learning some programming concepts in Rust.

    • Linux embedded with Yocto Project with Marco Cavallini who illustrated the international project, which since 2010 has united various industrial operators, both hardware and software, to support the vast and heterogeneous world of Linux on an embedded platform

    • Voting Machines in schools: how to use them with Paolo Finardi and Omar Lazzari who illustrated the possible use of voting machines for educational purposes, using the Ubuntu Linux system installed by default. The event was held at the “Gabriele Camozzi” Comprehensive Institute in Bergamo.

    • Partitioning for dummies with Emiliano Vavassori in which he explained some of the fundamentals of partitioning: why it is done, what the main types of partitioning tables are (MS-DOS and GPT) and their relative peculiarities.

    • GDPR - Guidelines for an entirely open source implementation! with Andrea Flori who illustrated the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), aims and objectives of the legislator.

The year ended with the classic national Linux Day event.
