Our values

Since 2001, BgLUG — Bergamo Linux Users Group has focused its efforts primarily on promoting free software and GNU/Linux operating system even more, by bringing together users of this system in the province of Bergamo. We believe that the significance of free software, libre , and open source (FLOSS) goes far beyond purely technical or economic considerations.
We believe that the principles of knowledge sharing that underpin free and open-source software are formative and educational.
We believe that schools above all should adopt it and we aim to support those that wish to embark on this path; for this reason, in 2015, the association launched LibreSchool, an initiative designed to help educational institutions install Linux in their computer labs.
Having discovered the world of makers through FabLab Bergamo, we also share the spirit of sharing ideas, experiences, and skills that is characteristic of FabLab Bergamo.
